How Can severe Vaginal Fungal Infection Be Treated?
Hello doctors, I have been struggling to get rid of fungal infection in vagina for past three months. 10 days after last periods, again I got some deep tears in inner vaginal walls. Also I feel tears near anus. What should I do? Will applying coconut oil or vagisil help? I am 37 and daibetic.
For a diabetic patient, control of fungal infection requires a multimodality approach as
- plenty of liquids
- vaginal hygiene
- local application of antifungal and steroid creams
- vigilant control of blood sugar
- precise antifungal and antibiotics as per the swab culture report
- avoidance of vaginal or anal sex, if involved.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
General & Family Physician
